🇬🇧 | “The team played a great match against a very strong opponent, as shown by their position in the standings. I’m very pleased with the boys’ performance; they were eager to end the home fixtures with a victory, which is important. It demonstrates growth in character and mental strength, regardless of the game’s importance.”
Como 1907’s Primavera coach, Daniele Buzzegoli, shared his thoughts on the last home match of the season against Udinese on Saturday, 4th May, which ended 4-3 in Como’s favour. Buzzegoli reflected on the match from his perspective.
“I believe the most critical moment in the match was when the opponent took the lead early. After conceding six goals in the previous match, we worked hard all week to stay focused and tighten our defence. The players fought back strongly, and I’m genuinely satisfied with how positively they responded after conceding a goal just six minutes into the game.”
🇮🇹| “La squadra ha fatto un’ottima partita, abbiamo giocato contro una squadra molto forte, ciò lo testimonia la sua posizione in classifica, sono molto contento della prestazione dei ragazzi che hanno voluto chiudere il percorso casalingo con una vittoria e questo è importante, va a dimostrare una crescita sia livello a caratteriale che mentale indipendentemente da quanto siano importanti.”
L’ allenatore della Primavera del Como 1907, Daniele Buzzegoli, analizza l’ultima partita in casa della stagione contro l’Udinese di Sabato 4 Maggio, conclusa 4 a 3 per i ragazzi del Como. Buzzegoli descrive la partita affrontata dal proprio punto di vista.
“Il momento cruciale dell’ultima partita penso che sia stato dopo il loro uno a zero loro siccome venivamo da sei gol presi e avevamo lavorato tanto durante la settimana sul fatto di stare attenti e a cercare di limitare un pochino le nostre lacune difensive, ma invece la squadra ha reagito in maniera forte. Onestamente sono contento che la squadra sia stata in grado di rispondere in modo positivo dopo un ostacolo presentato dopo solo 6 min dall’inizio.”
🇬🇧 | “I support Como and only Como. My father took me to the Sinigaglia for the first time in 1979, when I was only five years old. Back then the stadium still had the cycling velodrome. Funny enough, my family somehow always had ties with Como players. My dad and Stefano Borgonovo were friends, and one time we even went to Borgonovo’s house; he was such a kind and humble man! When I was younger, I played football in Tavernerio, the same team as @patrickcutrone ‘s father, Pasquale Cutrone. He was a very good leader, I see where Patrick gets his qualities from. Although Patrick’s father was a defender, he specialised in scoring penalty kicks!”
Veteran Como 1907 fan Maurizio Malacarne was present at Stadio Sinigaglia alongside his two daughters Agata and Margherita, his girlfriend Elisa as well as her son Alex for the Como-Cittadella match. Maurizio reminisced on how his journey as a Como fan began and spoke about passing down his passion for the biancoblu to his two daughters.
“My most memorable Como match was the away match between AC Milan and Como on January 13th 1985. I was about 11 years old then, and I came with my father. It was played on the snow, and the Milan players didn’t have the proper shoes for this, so they were gliding on the pitch like they were on skis! Then, this year, when Como played against Sampdoria away, I took my 11-year-old daughter Agata and my eight-year-old daughter Margherita to their first ever away game. When Cutrone scored, they celebrated like crazy! Now Agata is telling me she wants to start playing football! I’m happy that I’ve successfully passed down this passion of mine to my daughters, the same way my father did to me.”
🇬🇧 | “Being born blind has been a journey full of challenges. I used to feel a mixture of envy and frustration when thinking about my peers. But everything changed when I decided to turn my blindness into a strength instead of a weakness.”
Daniele Cassioli is regarded as the greatest blind Paralympic water skier of all time. He’s also the founder of @realeyessport ,which offers new experiences to blind and visually impaired children. On March 28th, he visited Como 1907’s academy at the training ground.
“I started skiing in 1995. At the time, no coaches believed in me, not because I wasn’t good, but because they couldn’t see past my disability. I turned this obstacle into an opportunity and learned that anything can changed for the better.
“The message I would like to convey to the boys is to ask themselves: ‘What can I do so that the world around me is ready for me to take the field?’. Especially in football, it is important to have the right attitude and the right mindset in order to get motivated by challenges.”
🇮🇹 | “Nascere cieco è stato un viaggio pieno di sfide. Pensavo ai miei coetanei e sentivo un misto di invidia e frustrazione, chiedendomi perché proprio io. Ma tutto è cambiato quando ho deciso di trasformare la mia diversità in una forza anziché un limite.”
Daniele Cassioli, considerato il più grande sciatore nautico cieco paralimpico di tutti i tempi e fondatore dell’associazione @realeyessport ,che offre nuove opportunità a bambini ciechi e ipovedenti, ha incontrato i ragazzi delle giovanili del Como 1907 nel centro sportivo di Mozzate il 28 Marzo.
“Ho iniziato a sciare nel 1995. All’inizio non c’erano allenatori che credessero in me, non perché non fossi bravo, ma perché non riuscivano a giudicarmi oltre la mia disabilità. Ho trasformato questo ostacolo in un’opportunità di crescita personale, imparando che qualsiasi problema può essere un’occasione per diventare migliori.
“Il messaggio che vorrei trasmettere ai ragazzi è ‘cosa posso fare perché il mondo intorno a me sia pronto a farmi scendere in campo’. Soprattutto nel mondo del calcio, è importante avere il giusto approccio e la mentalità giusta, facendosi entusiasmare dalle sfide.”
🇬🇧 | “Having the opportunity to come here, train and show my skills has been really fun and I loved it. I think that moving forward I have learned so many things here that can help me in the future.”
William Lyon Perelman is an aspiring 15 year-old goalkeeper from Los Angeles California, USA. Having had the opportunity to train with the Como 1907 Primavera, he shares his experience in Como 1907’s development programme.
“I think yesterday I made the greatest save of my life. It was going top bins, I had a high hand and it hit the crossbar and I was able to get the rebound. That was one of the best highlights for me.
“It’s been a great experience. I love the city, the area and the football is obviously why I’m here. The football here is such a high level, very fast and the energy is very high. Although there’s a struggle with the language barrier, we make it work. Obviously in football the sport is a language itself so we can communicate.”

William Lyon Perelman è un giovane aspirante portiere di Los Angeles, California, USA. Dopo aver avuto l’opportunità di allenarsi con la Primavera del Como 1907, William condivide la usa esperienza nel programma di formazione del Como 1907.
“Ieri credo di aver effettuato la parata più bella della mia vita: è arrivato un tiro all’incrocio che ho deviato con la mano di richiamo sulla traversa, per poi prendere la respinta. Sicuramente uno dei momenti più belli dell’esperienza.
“Mi piace la città e la zona, ma il calcio è ovviamente il motivo per cui sono qui. Il calcio qui è di alto livello, molto veloce e intenso. Anche se ho avuto un po ‘di difficoltà con l’italiano, posso dire di avercela fatta. Ovviamente nel calcio c’è una lingua universale. Siamo quindi riusciti a comunicare tra di noi”.

After a hard-fought away match, holding 74% of possession throughout the game, Como 1907 kept host Modena to a 0-0 draw. The Lariani extended their unbeaten streak to eight matches. The focus now shifts to the final game of the season on Friday, May 10th 2024. See you all at Stadio Sinigaglia.

🇬🇧 | ‘Pulènta e Galèna Frègia’ by Davide Van de Sfroos has long been sung by Como 1907 fans. The football club and artist have collaborated on a reimagined version of the fan favourite mixed with their voices to celebrate the unique bonds between the club, its history and community. It will be officially released on May 10th.
Davide Van de Sfroos commented: “For many years now the Como fans have been singing Pulènta and Galèna Frègia and it is a song they have chosen naturally. In this moment of great enthusiasm for our city’s team, it seemed nice to prepare a stadium version to support the team in my own way”.
Talking about the experience, Pietro Sancassiani and Mattia Serra of Fedelissimi Bellagio: “It was a unique experience to sing with Davide. I didn’t sleep for two days from the emotions.”
“It was one of the best experiences of the last few years. Singing with Davide was great. Lets hope the song brings us luck in the last two matches.”

🇬🇧 | Como 1907 has launched its first ever sporting scholarship to help a promising US soccer player. Selected by the Head of Development, Osian Roberts and part owner of the club, Cesc Fàbregas, the aim is to help a young talent get invaluable experience including the chance to play for Como 1907’s @tst7v7 team in June.
The scholarship offers one exceptional male footballer the opportunity to train with the Como 1907 Academy while continuing to study and living with a local family for three to twelve months over the 24/25 season. Talented individuals, aged 18 to 19, are invited to apply by submitting a highlights reel along with a coach’s recommendation.
Commenting on the launch, Fàbregas said, “We are so happy to be able to provide an aspiring player with the chance to pursue their dreams. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a talented US player to train, live and immerse themselves in Italian football and of course Como itself. I am excited to see who applies and look forward to them joining us.”

At today’s press conference, caretaker manager Osian Roberts spoke about his appreciation for the Como 1907 fans and their support for the team. He commented on the current state of the dressing room and their plan for Modena on Sunday.
“The team’s mentality is that we can go anywhere and win. Our players are prepared to sacrifice for the team, but we haven’t achieved anything yet. We will go to Modena to try and win a game, but we will respect our opposition. We still have work to do.”

Durante la conferenza stampa di oggi, l’allenatore ad interim del Como 1907, Osian Roberts, ha parlato della sua stima per i tifosi e del sostegno che forniscono alla squadra. Osian ha poi commentato lo stato attuale dello spogliatoio e il piano per la trasferta di Domenica a Modena.
“La mentalità della squadra rimane la stessa. Sappiamo che possiamo andare ovunque e vincere, ma sempre con i piedi per terra, umiltà e rispetto per l’avversario. Abbiamo uno spogliatoio pronto a sacrificarsi per la squadra, ma sappiamo che non abbiamo ancora conquistato niente. Andremo a Modena per provare a vincere, rispettando sempre l’avversario e continuando a lavorare.”
